Plan & Play Events was built on a simple idea: when the planning is handled well, people are free to actually enjoy the moment.
Founded by Joyce Shankhour Talley, Plan & Play reflects a blend of structure, hospitality, and calm execution. Joyce grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and spent over 10 years working in software sales, where she developed a strong foundation in managing fast-moving details, client relationships, and high-pressure coordination while keeping people at the center of every experience.
Alongside her corporate career, she also built hands-on hospitality experience through managing and hosting Airbnbs, where creating welcoming, thoughtful, and well-run guest experiences became second nature. That mix of operational discipline and hospitality instinct naturally evolved into event planning.
Today, Joyce focuses on designing and executing events that feel effortless on the surface but are carefully thought through behind the scenes. From intimate gatherings to private celebrations, Plan & Play is about creating spaces that feel intentional, welcoming, and easy to be in so hosts can step out of logistics and into the moment.
At its core, the goal is simple: plan well, play fully.
